Are Snakes Stronger Than Humans?

|

There are many ways to compare the strength of humans and snakes but let’s focus on one aspect – muscle power.

In general snakes are much stronger than humans when it comes to muscle power.

One way to compare the strength of humans and snakes is by looking at their maximum muscle power output.

For example the maximum muscle power output of a human is about 60 watts per kilogram of body mass while the maximum muscle power output of a snake is about 100 watts per kilogram of body mass.

This means that pound for pound snakes are much stronger than humans when it comes to muscle power.

Another way to compare the strength of humans and snakes is by looking at their musculature.

Humans have relatively weak muscles especially when compared to snakes.

For example the muscles of a human arm are only about 10% as strong as the muscles of a snake’s body.

This means that even though humans are much larger than snakes snakes are still much stronger than humans when it comes to muscle power.

So why are snakes so much stronger than humans? There are a few reasons.

First snakes have a very different body structure than humans.

Humans are bipeds meaning that they have two legs that they use for locomotion.

Snakes on the other hand are quadrupeds meaning that they have four legs (or none at all in the case of some snakes).

This difference in body structure means that snakes have a much lower center of gravity than humans which gives them better balance and stability.

Second snakes have much longer and thinner muscles than humans.

This design allows them to generate more power per unit of muscle mass than humans.

Finally snakes have a special type of muscle called the lateralis muscle that helps them to generate extra power when they strike.

So there you have it.

Snakes are stronger than humans when it comes to muscle power.

But that’s not the whole story.

There are many other ways to compare the strength of humans and snakes and in some ways humans are stronger than snakes.

But when it comes to muscle power there’s no doubt that snakes are the clear winners.
