Can You Use Frontline On Snakes?

As temperatures rise so does the number of snakes that come out to enjoy the weather. If you’re not a fan of these slithering creatures you may be wondering if there’s a way to keep them away from your home.

One popular method is to use a product called Frontline which is designed to kill fleas and ticks. But can this product also be used on snakes?

The short answer is no you should not use Frontline on snakes. Here’s why:

While Frontline may be safe for use on dogs and cats it is poisonous to snakes. If you were to use this product on a snake it would likely kill the creature.

Even if Frontline didn’t kill snakes there’s no evidence that it would repel them. The product is designed to kill fleas and ticks not to repel snakes.

While some people may not like snakes it’s important to remember that they are beneficial creatures. They help to keep rodent populations under control and they’re not harmful to humans unless they’re provoked.

If you’re worried about snakes near your home there are other things you can do to keep them away. You can seal up any cracks or holes that they might be able to get into and you can remove any food sources that might attract them.

In some states it’s actually illegal to kill snakes. So even if you did use Frontline on a snake you could be breaking the law.

If you’re not a fan of snakes there are other ways to keep them away from your home. But using Frontline is not a safe or effective option.
