Do Guinea Pigs Have Balls?

The short answer is that yes guinea pigs do have balls.

But they are not the same as the balls that humans have.

In males the testicles are located inside the body near the kidneys.

They are small and do not descend into the scrotum like human testicles do.

This means that you will not be able to see or feel your guinea pig’s testicles.

However you may be able to see them during a veterinary exam if your guinea pig is male.

So why do guinea pigs have balls if they can’t use them to reproduce? The answer has to do with hormones.

Testicles produce testosterone which is a hormone that helps to regulate many things in the body including sex drive and muscle mass.

Testosterone is also responsible for the development of secondary sex characteristics such as facial hair and a deep voice.

In males testosterone is what makes them look and sound different from females.

Testosterone levels can fluctuate throughout a guinea pig’s life.

For example testosterone levels will be highest during puberty and then decrease as the guinea pig gets older.

There are a few ways to tell if your guinea pig is male or female.

The most obvious way is to look at the genitalia.

Males have a penis while females have a vulva.

Another way to tell the difference is by looking at the behavior.

Males are typically more active and aggressive than females.

They may also mark their territory by urinating on things.

If you’re still not sure if your guinea pig is male or female your best bet is to take them to a veterinarian for a closer look.

So to answer the question do guinea pigs have balls? Yes they do.

But they are not the same as human balls.
